Hey there Kings fans. Sorry for my sporadic blog posts, random rants and everything else in between, but I am back and ready to get down to business. Even though there is currently no NBA season, the 2011-2012 schedule was recently released and lets just say unlucky would be an understatement.
For starters, lets discuss that the Kings will be on TV a total of six times this season-five times on NBATV and once on TNT. Sure, I understand the Kings may have had one of the worst records in the league the past few seasons, but lets remember that this same team consistently takes the Lakers to OT and in Arco Arena, excuse me, Power Balance Pavilion, they put up a good fight in front of a pumped crowd.
In the first month of the season, the Kings take on the Lakers (twice), the current NBA champs, the Mavs, Chicago and New Orleans. Thank god the NBA waited a month and a half to put us up against the dream team more commonly known as the Heat. Our first game is against Houston where former Kings MVP Kevin Martin currently resides. Plus, as a UofA alumni, it's a chance to see my boys Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill play together just like in the good ol' days. Based on the schedule, If the Kings go 4-12, I'll be a happy camper.
There's still a lot to cover before (and if) there is a season, but mark my words, I'll be back...and soon!
